We would like to inform you of the publication of Act No. 10,400, dated August 12, 2026, which approves the update of the Technical Requirements for the Conformity Assessment of Low-Power Radiocommunication Equipment, amending provisions of Act No. 14,448/2017 regarding the frequency bands allocated for Wi-Fi equipment operation.
Main changes:
-In items 3.1.14, 3.1.15, 3.1.24, 11.7, and 11.7.4 of Act No. 14,448/2017, the frequency range has been changed from 5925 MHz to 7125 MHz to 5925 MHz to 6425 MHz.
-The new Act entered into force on the date of its publication in ANATEL’s Electronic Service Bulletin, and its application will become mandatory as of March 1, 2027.
-Equipment whose Technical Conformity Certificates remain valid beyond March 1, 2027 must be brought into compliance with the new requirements during their periodic maintenance process.
Additionally, the 6425 MHz to 7125 MHz frequency range will remain under study by ANATEL for the possible allocation of other telecommunications services. In this context, the Agency is expected to publish specific regulations regarding spectrum allocation and channelization for this band in the future.
